How To Plan A Whistler Bachelor Party (On A Budget!)

As is the case with most mountain resorts around the world, Whistler can take its toll on your wallet. With pricey accommodation, overpriced drinks, and steep ski passes, things can escalate quite quickly on your credit card statement.

Bachelor parties are renowned for multiplying this even further and have caused many a man to think that they will never financially recover!

But fear not….

Read on for our top tips on how to save yourself a few bucks, while still having an awesome bachelor party in Whistler.

Plan as early as possible

Many bachelor party costs can be avoided purely by planning early, accommodation often increases in price when trying to book last minute. This is heightened in Whistler, especially during peak months of the Winter Ski Season when hotels sell out months in advance.

Consider room configurations

If your group is comfortable with sharing beds then this can be a great way to reduce costs for the whole group. Many rooms in Whistler have a king bed and double sofa bed configuration. Meaning that you can squeeze 4 bachelor party legends into one room!

Sleeping often becomes an afterthought anyway on these weekends, so no need to waste precious beer money on extra beds.

Transport from YVR

If your group is landing at Vancouver International Airport then we feel the best way to get from there to Whistler is in a private minibus. Not only does it provide a personalized service with A to B convenience but it’s pretty cost-effective when split by up to 14 people.

However, if you are all not arriving on the same flight or want to save some extra cash then a shared coach option with other travelers will help you get to Whistler frugally.

Lower priced activities

Yes, Whistler is home to epic bachelor party activities such as Snowmobile Tours, ATV Tours, and Bungee Jumping and we fully encourage groups to experience these awesome adrenaline activities.

However, they naturally come at a price.

The good news is there are other bachelor party activities that suit any budget. Some of our favourites include Axe Throwing, Paintballing, and Aerial Obstacle Courses. These activities are still great fun while being slightly more kind to your overall budget.

Ski Passes

If you are heading to Whistler in winter and looking to “shred the gnar” then you will obviously need a lift ticket. Our preferred option is the Whistler Blackcomb Day pass as these have savings of up to 61% over lift tickets. Whatever you do - don’t wait until the day to buy your lift ticket!

Pre-Drink

This isn’t rocket science! Have a few looseners in your accommodation before heading out and spending $8 on beers.

Whistler Bar Hop

We love this nightlife activity as it offers fantastic value for money! Get entry to 4 hot spots in Whistler, 5 drink tickets, express entry, and cover charges are also included. You even get some pizza chucked in for good measure. Even better the wristband you receive allows you to re-enter any of the venues all night long!

Choose your weekend wisely

If possible, try to avoid holiday weekends! Whistler is busy and lively pretty much any weekend of the year so there isn’t a downside to visiting on a non-holiday weekend. In fact, besides from better accommodation deals, the slopes are quieter and it is easier to get into all the bars and nightclubs.

Be American!

The USD is strong compared to the Canadian Loonie, meaning there is a great opportunity to take advantage of the favourable exchange rate by heading north over the border. This means your money goes further when booking the various elements of a bachelor party in Whistler.
